Working with me
I am based in Te Whanganui a Tara Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand, where I run a hybrid psychoanalytic practice.
I offer consultations both in person and online. I am available to work with people both locally and internationally.
My approach to psychoanalysis is grounded in a Lacanian orientation, while drawing on influences from across the breadth of the psychoanalytic tradition.
Before becoming a psychoanalytic practitioner, I worked in the arts sector and academia, studying and teaching in the humanities. This instilled in me both a love of language and a sense of how factors such as class, race, and gender shape our experience of the world. I bring these influences with me into my analytic work.
My practice is inclusive and flexible; I welcome clients of all ages, ethnicities, gender expressions and sexualities.
Beginning the work
To begin the work, I offer a series of four preliminary sessions over the course of a month. These give us time to get to know each other, explore what brings you to analysis, and see if we’re a good fit before beginning the work proper. During this time, we discuss your personal history, familial background, and broader social context, as well as the nature of the psychoanalytic work itself.
Please email me to arrange a preliminary session to discuss the offer of psychoanalysis, or you can read more about psychoanalysis here. .
